Hydropower industry development in the Siberian Federal District: priorities and limitations

Abstract:
The article describes the priorities and specifics of the power industry in the Siberian Federal District connected with a high share of hydroelectric power stations in the power industry’s structure. The case-studies of the Boguchan, Turukhan and Altai hydroelectric power stations show what kind of technological and economic limitations face their development. The author makes some recommendations on how to build the economic instruments to manage the development of the power industry.
