Abstract: The paper considers the issues concerning the equalization of the socio-economic development in the cities and regions of the Novosibirsk Oblast. To solve this problem means to assess the competitive advantages of the cities and regions and to build such controlling mechanism which could realize these advantages and therefore could ensure the economic growth and higher quality of life for people.
