Comparative assessment of regional economies

S.V.Kazantzev

Journal "Region: Economics and Sociology", 2008, vol. 2

Abstract: The paper proposes a technique to measure differences in socio-economic indicators for regions. The author applies this technique not only to assessing changes in distance of regional socio-economic indicators but also to describing the nature of shifts and how each indicator defines a relative position of a region. The allowance for measures of inaccuracy of the statistical data used was made.
