Some notes on the relationship between the distributions of central and non-central F

E. S. Pearson and M. L. Tiku

Biometrika, 1970, vol. 57, issue 1, 175-179

Abstract: SummaryThe investigation starts from Tiku's (1965) approximation to the distribution of a non-central F, say F', based on the central F or variance ratio distribution. By examining the relations between the moment ratios β1 and β2 for F and F', it is shown why the approximation proved successful.
