A note on the moment structure of the multitype Galton-Watson process

M. P. Quine

Biometrika, 1970, vol. 57, issue 1, 219-222

Abstract: SummaryThe results of Pollard (1966) concerning the first and second central moments of the multitype Galton-Watson process are shown to hold in the most general case. A linear recurrence relation for higher noncentral moments is derived in the general case, and the question of the existence of a similar relation for higher central moments is discussed.
