Abstract: The unemployment phenomenon and the factors that contribute to its evolution have always been in the attention of the analysts having the main purpose to study the size, the structure and the dynamic of the unemployment. The aim of this study is to make a segmentation of the Romanian regions by taking into account the unemployment rate, the number of emigrants, the number of immigrants and the population for 42 regions for 2016 year. We decided to include the unemployment rate and the migration rate because these second index has strong implications on the first index.
