Abstract: The paper addresses aspects and challenges from the economic and social realities of one of the largest companies in Resita, with the largest number of employees and with a focus on the tradition of steelmaking in Resita. The choice of the title and these approaches are considered relevant for the scope and results of the proposed research and analysis, for the generation of realistic conclusions and recommendations but also some premises for future research in the field of human resources management and not only. Complexity, pertinence and relevance reside also in tradition, continuity in activity, longevity and stability in leadership positions, alignment with legislation, rules and principles, managerial professionalism, prompt response to challenges, strategic vision and economic resilience.
