Abstract Due to changing demographic patterns, organisations universally are facing an increase in the number of employees due for retirement and a dwindling number of younger workers available to replace them. Between 40% and 70% of all senior executives will become eligible for retirement in the next five years at most major corporations (Gandossy & Kao, 2004).
