Abstract:
Abstract The decision to start a business often necessitates the support of others. Pivotal here is the entrepreneur’s family and friends. Archer (2003), for example, reports on an entrepreneur that gave up a successful business because he believed his new family situation was better served by the safety of stable earnings from employment. For those just starting out, there is perhaps also a need to seek out support from banks, accountants, lawyers, consultants, potential customers, other business owners and publicly funded organisations.
