Abstract: Abstract The neo-institutionalist approach breaks with the utilitarian argument and maintains that the search for legitimacy in management frequently replaces the quest for efficiency It proclaims the institutional nature of the actions of top managers, whether it be political, cultural, cognitive or relational.
