Abstract:
Abstract Collaboration is an advantageous strategy for technology-based competition. The management of collaboration involves the mutual efforts of supply chain partners to design, implement, and manage seamless value-added processes (Johnson and Johnson 1989). The development and integration of people and technological resources as well as the coordinated management of materials, information, and financial flows underlie successful supply chain collaboration (SCC). As the competition among firms is shifting from company versus company to supply chain versus supply chain, managers should not only adopt SCC whenever needed but also manage it successfully (Gomes-Casseres, 1994; Pagh and Cooper, 1998; Salcedo and Grackin, 2000). This necessitates, among others, a measurement system that is useful for the management of decision-making in various issues such as planning, control, alignment, and improvement of collaboration (Landeros et al., 1995; van Hoek, 1998).
