Why Play Politics and Why Acquiesce?

Abstract: Abstract Company politics comes in all shapes and sizes, but whether they’re small and incidental or large and strategic they always have an influence on the effectiveness of the organisation. The following are a couple of examples of game-playing that I came across recently which illustrate the ego management that drives the behaviour of both those who play and those who acquiesce to politics:
