Abstract:
Abstract In late 2004 and early 2005, the Walt Disney Company was in deep discussions with Warner Bros and J.K. Rowling with the vision of bringing her stories of Harry Potter to life in a theme park. J.K. Rowling entered these conversations as cautiously as she had previously when approached with movie and merchandising deals. As the Harry Potter brand guardian, Rowling would not turn her character and stories over haphazardly. She had strict demands. As always, her top priority remained staying true to the Harry Potter brand. Disappointing fans was not an option for Rowling.
