Abstract: Abstract Manuel Diaz, the new Mayor of Aniane and general councillor, now started to feel the effects of his victory. First, he was sanctioned by André Vézinhet, the President of the General Council. Vézinhet had publicly supported Mondavi’s project and its success would have meant political success for him. Mondavi’s name would have been associated with the economic expansion of the wine industry in the Hérault.
