Chapter 12 in The Theory and Practice of Systematic Personnel Selection, 1993, pp 239-252 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The methods for personnel selection described in earlier chapters have covered the methods in common use, including more recently developed ones. The methods described in this chapter are in general not widely used, and most of them do not have well-established levels of criterion-related validity. They are nevertheless worth discussing, either because they may be particularly useful in certain situations (such as self-assessment) or because they are interesting and controversial (for example, handwriting analysis and astrology).
