Project Hosting and Whole Team Building

Chapter Chapter 12 in Hyperinnovation, 2002, pp 176-190 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract As above, the innovation trek is full of the unknown; and as a result, these kinds of emergent project team need a guide, a Sherpa to negotiate the rocky innovation canyon. Project hosts promote live projects, recruiting staff into project teams from the network as chaotic demands arise. They promote open debate and dialogue, encourage people to put their views forward and work interactively as a whole team. Equally, a project host has a positive role in the nurturing of a shared psychology and development of team communication skills. All in all, the project host has a highly detailed role to play, to guide and motivate a project team through to successful results.
