Abstract:
Abstract Some six or seven years ago, I had the chance to attend a Round Table at the University of Nijenrode, in Holland. The central discussion was on ‘Innovative Organizations’ and several academics, consultants and executives gathered to discuss some innovations made in two organizations, a Danish hearing-aid manufacturer and an electronics company from Rotterdam. I was delighted to see how traditional organizations had transformed themselves into participative, learning environments, where the ‘way it has always been’ had been courageously questioned, and dozens of processes had been replaced by new and creative ideas, all developed by the employees.
