Abstract:
The conditions and driving forces of interaction between antagonistic political and social systems in Europe are combined in a research paradigm. Dependent and independent variables are chosen from analogies of international integration pro cesses past and present and from integration theories in East and West. More conceptual clarity can be expected from a greater amount of empirical evidence of intersystem cooperation which will increase with the development of the European Conference of Security and Cooperation.
