Enhancing the Teaching of Radical Political Economy Through Multimedia Integration: A Pedagogical Framework

Swayamsiddha Sarangi

Review of Radical Political Economics, 2025, vol. 57, issue 3, 411-428

Abstract: This article addresses the evolving challenges in teaching radical political economy in contemporary economics curricula, where traditional Marxist perspectives are increasingly marginalized. I propose a pedagogical framework centered on multimedia integration to revitalize the teaching of topics in radical political economy. Through an exploration of popular movies and documentaries, this article elucidates how innovative approaches can be used to engage students and foster critical thinking. By leveraging multimedia resources, educators can effectively convey Marxian concepts, provoke meaningful discussions, and inspire students to critically examine economic systems and envision alternative socioeconomic models.
