Abstract: This article concerns personal data protection issues in business. The authors analyze problems regarding definition and scope of personal data protection together with the dilemma associated with reconciliation of it with the transparency of entrepreneur’s data. The analysis and considerations are also focused on the issue of personal data processing in the employer-employee relationship and the protection of personal data on the Internet. Referring to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), that is to be implemented in May 2018, the authors indicate challenges with regards to the analyzed problems and new solutions that aim at facilitating the management of personal data and their effective protection.
