Abstract:
In 2014–2020, an extensive program of financial support for the creation and development of the so-called startups, i.e. companies with high innovative potential, operating most often within the high technology industry, industry 4.0 or the Internet. The ‘Start in Poland’ program with a budget exceeding PLN 2.8 billion assumes the intensification of entrepreneurial attitudes and thus an increase in the country’s innovativeness. The fundamental question, however, is whether solely, or mainly, financial support affects not only the intensification of entrepreneurial attitudes but also their quality and what factors increase the number of companies with high innovative and business potential. The aim of the article is to answer the question of what are the expectations of enterprises operating as startup accelerators, which translate into the intensification of entrepreneurial attitudes, including the creation of startups with high potential, both business and innovative. In order to answer the research question, the research was carried out in accordance with the assumptions of the explanatory strategy, by performing quantitative research (n = 112) in the initial phase and qualitative research (n??= 17) in the second phase.
