Abstract:
Abstract In the context of global digitalization, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play a vital role in the economy, but digital transformation is confronted with significant challenges all over the world. This study systematically analyzes the key obstacles in SMEs’ digital transformation, including difficulties in technology application, talent shortages, and data management and security risks. It is found that off-the-shelf technologies often fail to adapt to SMEs’ unique business processes, the shortage of digital-savvy talent hinders the transformation pace, and fragmented data silos along with security threats pose risks to operations. Based on the analysis results, the research proposes practical countermeasures, such as customized technology development, establishment of a continuous technology iteration mechanism, talent training and introduction measures, and the construction of a scientific data management and security system. These findings can provide insights for SMEs to navigate the complexities of digital transformation and enhance the competitiveness in the digital economy.
