Chapter Chapter 6 in Early Internationalizing Firms, 2024, pp 123-167 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Studies have stressed the need to study processes and dynamics that allow ventures to acquire or develop strategic resources and capabilities that support early internationalization, growth, survival, and performance. This chapter explores the processes and dynamics related to core resources, capabilities, decisions, and strategies relevant to understanding the international behavior of early internationalizing firms. The chapter illustrates and summarizes the evidence on the financing sources, organizational culture, knowledge and learning processes, international opportunities, decision-making processes, networks, marketing, innovation, and digitalization among studies on EIFs. Future avenues of research are discussed in the final part.
