Chapter Chapter 3 in Making Better Decisions, 2020, pp 11-20 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Our book is about decision-making and decision problems. ‘Decision problem’ refers to a situation in which we have to act (make a choice, decision) to find a way forward. We normally have several decision alternatives to choose from, sometimes just two, but often many. We may have just one criterion to judge the quality of decisions, but usually we have more than one criterion. Situations, which involve a decision problem, are very common.
