Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, the research area of value-based supply chain management is introduced. Based on research gaps that are pointed out, the underlying research questions of this thesis are raised. Methodology and approaches of this thesis to answer these questions are outlined and the structure of the thesis is illustrated.
