Abstract:
Abstract When William Lloyd gave his two lectures at Oxford University in 1832, he could not have been aware how prescient his topic was. The topic is so profound further study of it eventually led to the Nobel Prize in Economics for Elinor Ostrom (2014)—so far the only woman awarded that Prize—for her analysis of economic governance, especially the commons.
