Abstract Max Meier (61), a “humane” entrepreneur, succeeded his father as a baker in Appenzell, Switzerland, in 1987, and has over the last 33 years developed the family business an internationally successful group of companies renowned for its chocolate specialties. Six months ago, he suffered a heart attack and asks you how he should confront the issues of board composition and management appointment.
