Abstract: Abstract This chapter offers an insight into the economy of sport and highlights the special economic and business features that are important for understanding, but even more indispensable for decision-makers in sports organisations. The focus here is on team sports organisations, and particularly important topics such as the demand for spectator sports, the intensity of competition in team sports leagues, the economic relevance of sporting events, and sports clubs and federations.
