Abstract: Abstract This chapter looks back at the way technology has been managed historically, the difficulties that this has created, and why it is necessary to rethink the problem as we look to the future. The material was mostly sourced from a review of academic literature which consists of peer-reviewed research findings by others in the broad area of the management and governance of business technology but it also contains some anecdotal evidence from what people in leadership roles are experiencing right now in what is a rapidly changing world.
