Chapter 8 in HR Leadership During Bankruptcy and Organizational Change, 2022, pp 63-71 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Organizational change in any form requires an enormous amount of communication, leadership, of alleviating employee fears and concerns. Human Resources professionals and leaders are often focused on the well-being of others at the expense of neglecting themselves. Not surprisingly COVID took center stage in 2020 with nearly 8 in 10 adults (78%) stating the coronavirus pandemic is a significant source of stress in their lives. This chapter explores the importance of taking care of oneself during trying times whether it be personal or professional. The chapter includes an interview with Jaymie Meyer Founder of Resilience for Life®, an ICF PCC & Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach. The chapter discusses practical ways for individuals to incorporate lifestyle changes, work/life balance, pushing the comfort zone, stress reduction, weight control and self-care. These include recharging, volunteering, and reconnecting as well as objectively understanding how the change the reader is going through will affect them.
