Chapter 3 in Structured Innovation, 2024, pp 45-71 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Creativity serves as the catalyst for translating motivation into tangible outcomes. It involves the ability to think beyond conventional constraints, to perceive connections where others see disjunctions, and to envision possibilities that defy conventional wisdom. In the context of inventions and innovations, creativity enables individuals to conceive novel approaches, devise ingenious solutions, and re-imagine existing paradigms. Whether through the combination of existing ideas in novel ways or the creation of entirely new concepts, creativity is the bedrock upon which innovation thrives. In this chapter, amongst others, we present key approaches to strucktures problem solving including de Bono’s six hats, brainswarming, and TRIZ.
