Chapter 9 in Achieving Organizational Excellence, 2018, pp 161-172 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The ISO 9000 family of international quality management standards and revised ISO 9001:2015 have earned a global reputation as a basis for establishing effective and efficient quality management systems. Several organizations across the world have benefitted from the standard. In the UAE alone, 4125 organizations are certified. This chapter particularly lays importance on understanding the ISO family of standards. It aims to address where and how we can make a significant contribution toward excellence. It will explore how “benchmarking” and “Six Sigma” complement an excellence journey and, hence, support the continuous improvement program of an organization.
