A chapter in Narrative Organizations, 2020, pp 179-186 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Metaphors make it possible to render even complex topics or emotions more accessible to an audience. Their potential may be employed as a narrative tool to increase the meaningfulness of a message or the ease with which listeners will remember it. Metaphors can serve many purposes, e.g., structuring information in presentations, reducing complexity, illustrating differing viewpoints, or supporting conflict management.
