Abstract:
Abstract This case describes how the Information Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangsu University (AHJU) developed an adverse event detecting system. This system takes into consideration of the characteristics of various types of adverse events and also involves departments in. The system was implemented following preliminary research, system requirements analysis, planning, and designing. It now enables multiple departments to come together to deal with adverse events. The management center’s time involved in the monthly statistical analysis for adverse events has been reduced from five days to one hour. After one year implementation, artificial intelligence technology was added to improve the system's in-depth data mining capability for historical adverse events. Currently, the system recognizes and effectively performs pre-detection, in-process management, and post-event analysis of suspected adverse events.
