Chapter Chapter 9 in Doing Business in India, 2022, pp 127-141 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The chapter goes into the evolution of the legal system in India, especially in modern times, and how businesses should try to remain on the right side of the law in India. With a very long history, the legal system in different eras developed quite differently, sometimes turning the things upside down. There have been vested interests—mostly of foreign rulers—in exploiting the wealth of the country by moulding the law in such a manner that they could always remain on the right side of the law.
