Chapter Chapter 10 in Lean Management for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, 2023, pp 165-178 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Going Lean does not preclude an organization to benefit from some of the emerging practices, and technology solutions. On the contrary, being on Lean pedestal helps organizations pick and choose right solutions that are in alignment with Lean philosophy, from a confusing and ever-growing spring of concepts and solutions. We picked five trends that can be synergistically integrated into Lean implementations and accelerate benefits to firms. These are Sustainability, Six Sigma, Industry 4.0, Theory of Constraints, and TdABC. The essence of this chapter is a brief description followed by pathways to integrate these solutions into Lean implementation specifically by SMEs.
