Abstract:
Abstract The flow of information can be divided into three stages: generation, transmission, and processing. For information transmission, Shannon abstracted a classical system model in 1948, with the following key theorems: lossless source coding, noisy channel coding, and lossy source coding. These theorems establish the theoretical foundations for source compression coding, channel coding, and lossy compression coding in mobile communication systems. Source coding is used for data compression to ensure that the content transmitted on the network is interpretable after decoding, while channel coding is used to reduce the error rate of the transmitted content, according to the information theory proposed by Shannon on the assumption of discrete memoryless lossy transmission for point-to-point communication. It is this basic theory that has seen the mobile communication industry evolve from 1 to 5G, which has experienced an upgrade around every 10 years.
