A chapter in Transcending Borders in Tourism Through Innovation and Cultural Heritage, 2022, pp 557-569 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Thematic tourist routes are an increasingly present approach in the development of tourist products, which are suitable for many types and forms of tourism. Their existence is successfully seen especially by the presence of many such routes worldwide. One of the forms of tourism with development potential is the cultural literary one, and, in this context, this paper deals with the way of capitalizing the cultural tourism by developing cultural-literary routes. The aim of the paper is to identify the conceptualization of thematic tourist products, on the cultural-literary line. In this respect, a qualitative marketing research was conducted. The research results constitute a foundation for the conceptualization of the thematic cultural-literary routes, as well as for the development of three variants of such thematic routes in order to introduce them on the Romanian market. The results are useful for tour operators that develop tourism products based on capitalizing on cultural heritage. Regarding the theoretical implication, the research contributes to the conceptualization of cultural-literary routes and potential ideas for future research.
