A chapter in Synergizing Management, Culture, and Arts for Tourism Development - Vol. 2, 2026, pp 533-544 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter aims to analyze the expansion and growth strategies of hotel groups, as well as to examine international markets. The core of this study focuses on hotel chains, known as hotel groups. The key aspects of these companies are their multinational character, their listing on the stock exchange and on financial markets in general, and their operations throughout the world. For academic purposes, specific brands that fit this categorization such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Accor, and Hyatt will be studied to enable results to be obtained. A summary of the financial profiles of these companies will also be presented in order to give a complete picture of the global investment scene. Focusing on such enterprises offers perspectives for analyzing tourism development at a strategic level. Some of the issues that will be studied in this process include which markets they choose to expand and for what reasons, what strategies are used to achieve this goal, and what challenges they face in the process. In addition, the ways in which they adapt their brand and services by geographic region will be discussed, as well as the role of partnerships with local actors and investors.
