Abstract: Abstract This exploratory study identifies constraints that prevent coastal tourism in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). A quantitative method is applied using a convenient sample to collect primary data by distributing a self-designed questionnaire at the coast of DRC. A questionnaire is distributed to a sample of 350 respondents. To create a profile and behavioral characteristics, descriptive statistics are performed. Exploratory factor analysis is used to identify constraints to visiting the coast of the DRC. Knowing what impedes tourists from visiting the DRC coast is very important and can assist the government and stakeholders in developing good products and working on those obstacles to improve tourism activities in this area. The findings revealed that “cost” and “mobility” were found as constraints to visit the coast in DRC to some extent.
