Chapter Chapter 1 in Unifying Sustainability Information for Societal Automation, 2025, pp 1-5 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter presents introduces a new unifying framework for harmonizing social sustainability data across various sectors, including businesses, governments, and social organizations. This chapter introduces a Conceptual Model for a Stigmergic Information System Network designed to effectively measure and support decision-making to manage social impacts. This model integrates systems thinking, dynamics, and stigmergic systems into a framework that operates across micro to macro scales within dynamic social environments. The model was developed through a doctoral research project applying the Inductive Top-Down Theory Building Approach. This research synthesizes existing literature to develop a flexible and resilient model that adapts to technological and social changes. This chapter describes that the book chapters are organized in a format that reflects the conceptual theory-building process.
