Chapter Chapter 2 in Soft Skills for the 21st Century, 2025, pp 3-6 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The chapter explores the complex and evolving understanding of soft skills since this concept gained prominence in the 1970s. It illustrates the diverse and ambiguous definitions of soft skills in academic literature. It highlights the need for a more structured and clear understanding of what soft skills entail, especially given their importance in various professional contexts. In the final part, a list of the most important soft skills according to academic sources is presented.
