Abstract: Abstract This chapter investigates the economic impacts of malnutrition from different perspectives. We first offer an overview of the economic effects of the TBM, and we focus on two key targets: children and older adults. Subsequently, we present the impact of malnutrition on healthcare costs, and the societal costs of malnutrition. We finally illustrate some policies that have been advanced to tackle malnutrition, with a focus on the European and the Italian contexts.
