Abstract: Abstract The concept of the “network society” is an evolving one that is gaining ground in evolutionary thinking about economic development. It entails a shift from the conventional models toward a complex model dealing with the interface between economics, culture, and technology and centered on the predominance of knowledge intensity and innovation content to maintain competitive advantage. Given its multidimensional structure, the concept of network society offers a feasible option as part of a results-oriented development strategy for developing countries.
