Abstract: Abstract A keen interest in the future follows from the perception that managers are there to make decisions, and the teachings of management recommend strategies, budgets and calculations as means of controlling the future. This chapter emphasizes the crucial role of judgments, negotiations and compromises in any discussions about the future.
