Chapter Chapter 1 in The Smart City and the Co-creation of Value, 2016, pp 1-15 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Modern society faces a wide range of issues, and one of the greatest that human beings have to solve in the 21st century is global warmingGlobal warming . In order to limit temperature rises, we have to dramatically cut emissions of carbon dioxide, which is one of the causes of global warming, but the close linkage of this problem with issues of economic development means that various interests are involved, and it is common knowledge that the world as a whole is making less headway than expected.
