Chapter Chapter 1 in Unlearning at Work, 2021, pp 1-11 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract As successful experiences accumulate over the years, organizations emphasize efficiency, grow complacent, and learn too little (Nystrom and Starbuck in Organ Dyn (Spring):53–65, 1984; Starbuck in Learn Organ 24(1):30–38, 2017). As (Drucker in The effective executive. Harper & Row, New York, 1967) suggested, successful organizations are prone to reinforcing their cognition structures and expecting success to continue, and rarely pause to re-scan their environments (Starbuck and Hedberg in Handbook of organizational learning and knowledge. Oxford University Press, Oxford, 2001).
