Chapter Chapter 13 in Two-Tier Stochastic Frontier Analysis for the Social Sciences, 2025, pp 315-335 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter includes the detailed theoretical presentation of the two 2TSF binary response models whose empirical applications are presented in Chap. 6 . The first one is an extension of the standard Probit model with a richer distributional specification that allows estimation of the effects of latent forces on the probabilities of the outcome. The second considers the cases where a Treatment has two opposing effects, allowing the Treatment to have a net effect of different direction per individual observation.
