Chapter Chapter 1 in Understanding Speed in Organizational Change, 2026, pp 1-12 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Discussions of organizational change are often framed by the assumption that societal development is accelerating and that organizations must adapt at an increasing pace. This chapter takes these assumptions as a point of departure and broadens the discussion of organizational speed by introducing a set of guiding questions. The chapter develops analytical distinctions concerning the speed, direction, and controllability of change, thereby opening up multiple perspectives on speed rather than privileging a single interpretation. In this way, the chapter broadens the discussion of the pace of organizational change.
