A chapter in Computational Mechanics, 2007, pp 249-249 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this paper a numerical study of electroosmotic flow through microchannels has been studied. The governing equations consists of a 2D Poisson-Boltzman equation and a 2D Navier Stokes with electric double layer (EDL) field and velocity field in the cross section of circular and triangular microchannel (as shown in figure. The meshless collocation method is applied to solve the equations. The volumetric flowrates with different ratios for a fixed hydraulic diameter are compared. The comparison of numerical simulation shows that significance influence of the cross section geometry on the flow field. Our results agree with the corresponding analytical solution Figure The cross section of triangular and circular microchannel
